Since December 2022, Vera Action has conducted extensive public opinion research and message testing to understand voters’ perceptions of crime and their preferred policy solutions. With these findings in hand, we conduct briefings and provide messaging guidance to politicians, campaigns, committees, and caucuses, on how to effectively counter “tough-on-crime” rhetoric and talk affirmatively about safety.
